Tips For Starting A Blog

Hey lovelies! I am back with another Tips Post but this time is a topic that I've been asked to cover a good few times as people have wanted to start one but didn't know how. This post is all about Tips For Starting A Blog : this should work for anyone that wants to start a blog as it's the same for most blogs. I hope this is helpful for you all!

STEP ONE - CHOOSE A BLOGGING PLATFORM

If you want to start a blog you need to know what platform you're going to have your blog on. There are a lot of different platforms which include Blogger, Wordpress, Squarespace and Tumblr. Most bloggers use Wordpress as it's widely available but Blogger is better for beginners.

STEP TWO - SELF HOSTING?!

You need to decide if your going to go hosted or self hosted. Wordpress, Blogger and Tumblr offer free blogs to anyone but Wordpress org is a self hosting site. For a first time blogger a free blog would be good but it's totally up to the person itself : if you're serious or not serious. 

There are limits if you don't go self hosted but you can do what you need to do on a free blog. 

STEP THREE - OWN DOMAIN?!

All of this might seem scary but it's pretty easy once you know what you want. An own domain can go with a free blog or a self hosted blog. An own domain just means that you get rid of .blogspot.com or .wordpress.com : so your blog looks more professional. You pay a yearly fee to get your own domain and you own it.

You can buy them on a lot of different websites like GoDaddy, Register 365 and Blacknight are just to name a few. They all should have similar prices but they may offer different things.

STEP FOUR - DESIGNING YOUR BLOG

No matter what website or host you go with : you can design your blog. Some of the websites will have free theme's that you can use and then people on the web will have some theme's that you can buy. The look of your blog is totally up to you and what you want to make from it : all theme's can cost a lot of different prices depending on who makes them and what you do.

You can buy them on Pipdig, Etsy and much more : you don't need to buy a theme if you don't want to at the start.

STEP FIVE - PUBLISHING YOUR BLOG

Now once you have all of that done : you can publish your blog but first there are a few things that you should add to your blog which will be listed below for you all.

About Me Page : This should be on your blog to let your readers know all about you, what you do etc. It's just to let your readers know about you in dept.

PR & Disclaimer : These are some of the most important things you need to have on your blog if you want to work with PR agency or if your going to review products as it shows that you are loyal with the reviews.
